From the people who live in these rooms
"We had moved into the unit nine months before reaching out. The curtains from the developer's contractor were fine, but the living room never felt settled. After Krienta's visit, the direction document explained exactly why — the curtains were hanging too short and the fabric weight was wrong for the amount of afternoon sun. Within six weeks of the consultation everything was replaced and the room feels completely different."
"We used the Soft Furnishings Package for the whole ground floor after our renovation. The two budget band shortlists were genuinely useful — we ended up mixing between them, taking the mid-range fabric in the main rooms and the lower-tier option in the helper's quarters. Krienta handled all the maker communication, which was a relief. The only thing I'd say is that the lead time was a touch longer than expected, but the result was worth it."
"Krienta handled the soft layer documentation for our new bungalow alongside our architect's package. The fabric schedule was detailed enough that our curtain maker — who we had used before — was able to work directly from it with no back and forth. The sequencing note for the different rooms was practical and something I would not have thought to ask for."
"I came to Krienta with a specific problem — a bedroom that was receiving too much east-facing morning light and warming up too early. The consultation looked at sheer layering over blackout lining, which I hadn't considered. The result is exactly right and the room holds cool in a way it never did before."
"The soft furnishings package covered our living and dining areas. I appreciated that Krienta was present on installation day — there was one issue with how the curtain track had been positioned that would have required a return visit otherwise, and it was resolved on the spot. Good service and the upholstery work on the dining chairs is holding up well after a few months."
"We did the whole-home documentation for a linked bungalow we were renovating — seven rooms, three different curtain makers, two upholsterers. The sequencing document was what made it manageable. Each maker received exactly what they needed and there was almost no confusion during production. Would use Krienta again without hesitation."
Three projects, in detail
An apartment that never lost the afternoon heat
The west-facing living room and master bedroom were receiving full afternoon sun from 2pm onwards. Existing curtains were a single layer of medium-weight linen that did almost nothing to manage the heat load.
Krienta specified a double-track system with a semi-sheer front layer for diffused daytime light and a dim-out rear layer for afternoon and evening use. Hardware was upgraded to accommodate the two layers cleanly.
The homeowner reported a noticeable reduction in room temperature and air-conditioning cycle time by the following month. The combination of layers also meant the room could be used with natural light without the previous glare problem.
"We had tried heavier curtains on our own before and they made the room feel oppressive. The two-layer approach was something we would not have reached without the consultation."
A soft layer assembled after construction, not before
The homeowners had completed a full renovation with an interior designer but left soft furnishings out of the initial scope. The home was finished and moved into before the soft layer was addressed, meaning everything had to be selected in context of rooms that were already furnished and occupied.
The Soft Furnishings Package allowed Krienta to read each room as it actually existed, against finished flooring, installed joinery, and existing furniture. Fabric choices were made to work with what was already there, not from a rendering or a mood board produced before occupation.
Four rooms covered across six weeks. The homeowners noted that the cushion and throw selections were the biggest change — the rooms had felt visually sparse before the soft layer was added. Two makers were used across the project; no overlap or sequencing conflicts.
"Doing the soft layer after moving in turned out to be an advantage. Krienta could see exactly what we actually needed, not what we thought we would need on paper."
Documentation for a home with five different makers
A new bungalow project with an architect-led design package that had no provision for soft furnishings. The homeowner wanted to engage specialist makers for different elements but had no way to coordinate them or provide consistent specifications.
Krienta produced a complete Whole-Home Soft Layer Documentation package covering all windows and soft pieces, with separate specification sheets for each maker and a sequencing note that mapped the installation order across rooms to avoid conflicts.
Five makers across curtains, blinds, cushions, upholstered seating, and bespoke bedheads. All worked from Krienta's specifications without requiring clarification from the homeowner during production. Installation completed across three weeks with no remakes required.
"The hardest part of managing multiple makers is the information problem — nobody has the same reference. The Krienta documents solved that completely."
